Welcome to SAIS

SAIS Online Evaluation System

Departmental SAIS reports are now available at

SAIS apologizes for the delay in getting the reports up on the site. As you may know Fall 2015 was the first semester Campus Labs’ Course Evaluation was used to host SAIS evaluations. As with any new endeavor, there were a few issues with the administration and the decision was made to bring the evaluation data collected by Campus Labs into the OIRA report generator for SAIS. The data from Course Evaluation was formatted differently from data previously obtained from OIT, so quite a bit of work was done on both the data as well as our report generator to get SAIS reports produced. These problems have been resolved, and should not be an issue in future semesters. If you have any questions please contact

The Student Assessment of Instruction System (SAIS), a service of the University of Tennessee Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, provides for student evaluation of teaching at the University. SAIS operates by a mandate of the Faculty Senate. The evaluation instruments are based upon those originally developed by the University of Washington.

While SAIS developed as an in-class, scan form procedure, as of Fall 2011 all evaluations take place online. All SAIS responses are subject to the Tennessee Open Records Law. This applies to both structured and open-ended responses. Results of the assessment are provided to the instructors as well as published in the Student Government Association Tennessee 101.
